Two videos about flying!

http://designc7.com/journal/two-videos-about-flying/

Airplane to Airplane Skydive

This one is just cool! I just saw that scene in the movie! Hope that’s real, too!

Giant Waterslide Jump

This one was a little well-know and popular before, I guess some of you might have seen that already, it’s really stunning and fun, but some people are doubting it’s fake and a made-up ad, here and here. And this guy even did a math for that!

I doubted it, too. I hope it’s real, but before that guy made it, did he ever fail? if he did fail and fall down to the ground, he would be hurt so much and can not do that one more time at all, right?

Friend's wedding last week

http://designc7.com/journal/friends-wedding-last-week/

Last friday I went to a friend’s wedding and was asked to take photos for the wedding, I had a great time there and took lots of nice photos :D Well they considered me as the photographer but I am really not, haha. Both of the bride and the groom are my friends, and even the bride was my classmate in the university and were roommates, we were very close.

OK, take a look at what I took:

The Simpsons: 20th anniversary today

http://designc7.com/journal/the-simpsons-20th-anniversary-today/

From Answers.com

What’s the longest-running prime time entertainment TV show in America? The Simpsons, which celebrates its 20th anniversary today, claims that honor. Homer and Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie make up the world’s favorite animated family. They haven’t gotten where they are without outside help. The list of guest actors who lent their voices — and often their personas — to the show is long and eclectic, and includes actors, musicians, scientists, politicians, reporters, athletes and even an astronaut.

And the Lisa Simpson quote:

“You can’t create a monster, then whine when it stomps on a few buildings.”

Art Lebedev: Air Crosswalk design concept

http://designc7.com/journal/art-lebedev-air-crosswalk-design-concept/

Today I saw a post about Illuminated Air Crosswalk Concept, that’s a concept designed by Art Lebedev Studio, I think it’s a great concept :)

Air Crosswalk design concept

Crosswalk is a dangerous place, where pedestrians can get hit by car. Crosswalks are usually specially marked (with signs, additional traffic lights, etc.) for drivers to have enough time to slow down.
Parallel white stripes (in some places called “zebra”) are used to mark pedestrian crosswalks in most countries.
Our idea is to have double marking with illuminated stripes put above the road. It would solve several problems.

George Carlin: It's Bad for Ya

http://designc7.com/journal/george-carlin-its-bad-for-ya/

George Carlin:
was an American stand-up comedian and social critic, who won five Grammy Awards for his comedy albums. He was also an actor and author.

That’s all I know about him from Wikipedia for the first time. But that’s good enough for me, simply, I think he’s “the old fucker” after I watched his stand-up comedy show: It’s Bad for Ya!
Yeah, that video is how I know about him for the first time, I’m not living in the US, so I don’t know too much about stand-up comedy and him, they are completely strange for me, I guess stand-up comedy is similar to Xiang Sheng – 相声 in China.

Someone said: (this show is) the best of george Carlin ever. Surely one of the funniest and lighter comic guy worlwide. Well, I watch his show for the first time and don’t have too much word about him. I just think this show is just awesome, well, it is pretty fun! In this show he talked about “old fucker” point of view, children education, question about everything, religions, rights. He’s really smart and funny :) Take a look at the video below, I can’t stop laughing when I was watching it:

If Google Ruled The World [PICS]

http://designc7.com/journal/if-google-ruled-the-world-pics/

Google has already monopolized the world wide web, leading in several markets such as search, email (Gmail), mapping (Google Maps/Earth/Street View) and video (YouTube). However, it has yet to dominate the social web, with Orkut far behind social networking juggernauts – Facebook, MySpace, and Hi5. If Sergey Brin and Larry Page are ’sick and tired’ of the its online business, maybe they would venture out to other non-tech-related businesses, and grab a slice of the pie in the the auto, airline, or even the entertainment industry.

My friend in Japan sent me a url about Japanese Gravure idol, well, it’s my first time hear about something like that, totally strange thing for me. But it seems nice. The girl’s name who’s in the video is 西舘さをり = Sawori Nishidate (I googled it :P)

Let It Snow on Flickr

http://designc7.com/journal/let-it-snow-on-flickr/

I just read this article on Flickr Development Blog, found it’s fun and interesting.

Let It Snow:

Last holiday season, we got around to making it snow on photo pages – just for the fun of it. If you happen to be on a photo.gne page and add ?snow=1, it might still even work.. We’ve also used a variant of the effect in the past for beta feature sign-up sequences, complete with cheesy MIDI renderings of “The Girl From Ipanema.” Again, this was “just because”; sometimes the web is most entertaining when it’s most unexpected. If you can occasionally make your users smile, giggle and laugh when using your site, chances are you’re doing something right – or, you’re running a comedy site that’s going downhill.
