Design Shack Interviewed with Alen Grakalic of CSS Globe
Besides work I am a father, husband and an amateur triathlete. I enjoy long distance endurance sports. I finished 3 Ironman races in past year or so. Ironman triathlon slowly became my life style!

After I went to a friend’s (who was my classmate in the university) wedding last friday and got back home, I thought I should build a website for the class (class of 2006, and Computer Science & Technology 2002, we called “02CST” for short) we were in, haha. I think it’d be fun. I’ve got a plan for the site and wrote down the ideas on the paper. In shortly, this site would be a place to show 3 main parts of our life, (the photos, videos, stories of) Wedding, University Time, and Activities or Parties not in the university. Well, it’s just a rough plan then. I have to get it more detailed and start to design the site :) I hope I could get it done by the beginning of Jan 2010, haha.
Sweet Tweets is a weekend feature to The Design Cubicle highlighting some of my favorite, and other Twitterer’s design-related links discovered via Twitter throughout the work week – because having resources and staying up-to-date is important in growth and development.

What’s the longest-running prime time entertainment TV show in America? The Simpsons, which celebrates its 20th anniversary today, claims that honor. Homer and Marge, Bart, Lisaand Maggie make up the world’s favorite animated family. They haven’t gotten where they are without outside help. The list of guest actors who lent their voices — and often their personas — to the show is long and eclectic, and includes actors, musicians, scientists, politicians, reporters, athletes and even an astronaut.
And the Lisa Simpson quote:
“You can’t create a monster, then whine when it stomps on a few buildings.”
Crosswalk is a dangerous place, where pedestrians can get hit by car. Crosswalks are usually specially marked (with signs, additional traffic lights, etc.) for drivers to have enough time to slow down.
Parallel white stripes (in some places called “zebra”) are used to mark pedestrian crosswalks in most countries.
Our idea is to have double marking with illuminated stripes put above the road. It would solve several problems.

As you might know already, I'm not a big fan of animations that are added in CSS3. Yet, several people on Twitter told me why they really like the feature. At that point, I wanted to play around with it too.
At the same time, I wanted to see if those animations with CSS3 could be created with jQuery too (especially for those browser that don't support CSS3 animations yet). So today, I present you Five examples of CSS3 animations and their jQuery equivalents.
George Carlin: was an American stand-up comedian and social critic, who won five Grammy Awards for his comedy albums. He was also an actor and author.
That’s all I know about him from Wikipedia for the first time. But that’s good enough for me, simply, I think he’s “the old fucker” after I watched his stand-up comedy show: It’s Bad for Ya!
Yeah, that video is how I know about him for the first time, I’m not living in the US, so I don’t know too much about stand-up comedy and him, they are completely strange for me, I guess stand-up comedy is similar to Xiang Sheng – 相声 in China.
Someone said: (this show is) the best of george Carlin ever. Surely one of the funniest and lighter comic guy worlwide. Well, I watch his show for the first time and don’t have too much word about him. I just think this show is just awesome, well, it is pretty fun! In this show he talked about “old fucker” point of view, children education, question about everything, religions, rights. He’s really smart and funny :) Take a look at the video below, I can’t stop laughing when I was watching it:
